Asaba — The member representing Oshimili South Constituen-cy in Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Eugene Okonji, has announced his intention to dedicate the  Asaba Capital City website and ICT centre to late Maryam Babangida for her contributions to social change and development of Asaba.

Both initiatives are funded by the lawmaker.

Speaking with newsmen in Asaba, yesterday, the lawmaker explained that the ICT centre “would provide training in computer application for youths to enable them become computer literate and surf the internet in order to improve their productivity and broaden their knowledge.

“The centre would also boost the enviable educa-tion system put in place by Governor Uduaghan-led administration in Delta State by encouraging youths’ interest in ICT as an alternative to indulgence in drugs, violence and hope-lessness.”

The lawmaker described the late Maryam Babangida as a leading figure and champion of the cause of Asaba people.
“My aim is to complement the good efforts of Delta State government in ensuring that Mrs. Babangida’s memory lives on,” he said.
