‘I’ll do everything to play in S/Africa’

Newly called-up Charlton Athletic defender, Sam Sodje, yesterday said that he did not doubt his ability of making coach Lars Lagerback’s final Super Eagles team-list to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Sodje, who plays in the Championship, the equivalent of Nigeria’s National Division One league, was amongst the 44 players, invited for a pre-World Cup cum training session camp scheduled for April 27 and 28 in the United Kingdom.
And speaking to Brila FM, the tough defender, said that it feels good to be back in the groove of national team duty.

“When I heard the news that I have been invited for the pre-World Cup camp, I felt great as I have been waiting for this moment to prove my worth, which many are well aware of. I am a good player who works hard for the success of the team and I have no doubt in my ability to grab a shirt in the final team list to the World Cup.”
