Ijaw youths charge ministers on loyalty

WARRI—NATIONAL president of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, yesterday, called on the newly sworn in members of the Federal Executive Council to be fair to the Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, by discharging their duties to the country in a just manner.

“The era of business as usual is gone and we shall mobilize youths across the country to ensure compliance with 2010 budget,” he told Vanguard in a telephone interview.

Dr. Ekiyor applauded the Acting President for putting right pegs in right holes in the new cabinet and said, “Now that the president is in charge of power himself, we expect to see result, improvement in the power sector, not the stories we have been hearing all these years.”

He said the youths of the country would support the Acting President as long as he was ready to work and develop the country, adding, “what the people want is development and improvement on their lives. Once the government is able to provide the right conditions for this, nobody will say Dr. Jonathan is not a good president.”
