FRSC gives ultimatum to accidented vehicle owners

By Chidi Nkwopara
OWERRI—Imo State Command of the Federal Road safety Corps, FRSC, has granted a grace of 30 days to owners of accidented vehicles and impounded motorbikes on its premises to remove them or risk unpleasant consequences.

The Sector Commander, Mr. Angus Ibezim, read the riot act in a statement in Owerri.

“About 13 rescued accident vehicles and 50 motorbikes impounded by the Command for the failure of the riders to use safety helmet, have been lying in the premises of FRSC, Egbu Road, Owerri,” Ibezim said.

He advised the owners of the vehicles to take advantage of the magnanimity of the Command in granting 30 days grace to claim their vehicles, stressing that “if their owners fail to heed this advice, the vehicles would be auctioned after due process.”

Ibezim, however, warned that the vehicle owners must come forward with the necessary particulars to accelerate the release of the vehicles and motorbikes.
