Don’t expect easy ride in South Africa, Adepoju warns

Former Super Eagles attacking midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju has warned that the 2010 World Cup  will not be an easy ride as he urged the team’s handler, Lars Lagerback to choose players who are capable and fit for the competition.

He said players should be in their best form to able to do battle as other teams will parade a bunch of skilful and capable players, adding that the Swede should try his best to select the best players he knows are capable and fit.

The General Manager of Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan stressed the need for the organization of friendly matches as they would get the team prepared ahead of the Mundial.

“The competition is not going to be easy, it is going to be a tough. With teams from various countries having different targets and achievements on the competition, our players just have to be up and doing.

For effective result, Largerback needs players that are fit and capable both physically, mentally, psychologically and most of all, technically sound for the competition. They also need friendly matches to know their abilities,” the former Racing Santander of Spain player said.
