Abeokuta-DEPUTY Inspector General of Police, Mr. Israel Ajao, on Friday, said the force was making progress in its effort to unravel the killers of the late governorship candidate of the Action Congress, AC, in Ogun State, Otunba Dipo Dina.
Ajao, who made this declaration at Eleweran, the state police headquarters in the Ogun State during his operational tour of the ‘D’ Department, submitted that the police would not want to conduct a hurried investigation as a result of circumstances surrounding Dina’s death.
He added that the police was ready to develop three forensic laboratories in the country in order to fast-track investigation processes, noting, however, that the police were expending a large chunk of money in analyzing cases surrounding crime events.
“Investigation of Dina’s murder can not be conducted in a hurry because of the circumstances surrounding the death but we have interrogated so many people and we have received a lot of petitions.
“This is an investigation that we have committed resources and our energies to, in order to ensure a job well done but we don’t want to talk too much on it because of the ongoing investigation. “Investigation in this country is not easy because of the facilities on ground but we are planning to develop three Forensic laboratories now. This is a place where we can conduct our own DNA test and analyze issues that surrounds an event.
