In keeping with its policy of supporting forward looking organisations, promoting youth development, and socially responsible projects, Afribank Nigeria Plc has sponsored this yearâ€™s edition of University of Ibadan Sigma Club: Havana Carnival 2010.
Afribank is supporting UI students to revive Havana Carnival because the objectives of Sigma Club, organizers of the Carnival, aligned with the bankâ€™s CSR policy of helping youth to learn leadership skills, build entrepreneur spirit, discover their talents, direct their energy to productive ventures and realise their aspirations through creativity.

The bank assured that it would continue to be socially responsible by investing in community projects that would make impact on the larger society.
The bank has always identified strongly with the passion and vision of Nigerian students and youths and the public interest in the pursuit of its core business.
The bank, as far back as 1983, exemplified a culture of leadership by donating the (Banking and Finance building) to the University of Ibadan.
It has also provided educational aid facilities to Delta State University, Alvan Ikoku College of Education, gave award to best three candidates in UME-JAMB, endowed chairs in 13 federal universities among others.
Havana Carnival has a rich history and tradition dating back to 1955. The events usually cut across a wide spectrum of youth-centered activities.
The objectives of the Carnival include: capacity building, awareness, inspira-tion, creating and sustaining a unique platform for fun for youths from various campuses of Nigerian universities.
