Yenagoa — Bayel-sa State Commissioner for Environment, Mrs. Victoria Denenu, and her mother-in-law have been reportedly kidnapped in Aba, Abia State.

The duo, it was learnt, was kidnapped, Saturday, in Aba on their way to the marriage of her housemaid.
It could not be confirmed if the family had established contact with the kidnappers.

Though information about the incident was sketchy, the kidnappers, who were said to have operated in commando style, were said to have dressed in military fatigue.

Sources told Vanguard that the gunmen ordered all other persons in the vehicle conveying the abducted persons to disembark before driving their captive to an unknown destination.

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Solomon Omoemin, said he was not aware of the incident but the Overseer of the Bayelsa Ministry of Information and Communications, Nathan Egba, confirmed the incident.
