You’re on your own, Senator tells Elechi’s antagonists

By Denis Agbo

ABAKALIKI—SENATE Committee Chairman on Aviation, Senator Anyim Ude, representing Ebonyi South senatorial district has disowned the  opposition to Governor Martin Elechi,  especially from within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, saying that those factionalising the party in the state were on their own and were not recognised by the National Assembly.

Senator Ude, who spoke in Abakaliki, said that he belongs to the National Assembly PDP Reconciliatory Committee and that in all their meetings and outings, no report had ever been presented to the committee on the issue of factionalisation of  PDP in Ebonyi, maintaining that he does not belong to negative groupings such as “Abuja Group.”

Ude was reacting to the allegation that he had failed to take a position on the polarization of PDP in his state, as he had also refused to identify openly with either pro-Governor Elechi’s group, calling for his second term or the opposition that are asking for his vacation of the seat.

His words, “those factionalising the party in the state are on their own because the National Assembly Committee has not referred anything on Ebonyi to us. I am not party to any negative groupings such as Abuja group and anybody challenging the Governor is on his own.”
