ABUJA—President of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers, NAAE, Mr Isaac Orishaleye, yesterday, in Abuja, raised an alarm over what he called the “over-stretching†of Air Traffic Safety Electronic Personnel by long working hours, saying the situation has the capacity of impairing safe air travels in the country.
NAAE certifies air safety in Nigeria through the provision of serviceable equipment to ensure proper guidance of air craft during flight.
Orishaleye spoke on a day he disclosed that in about 18 months time, from now, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, would witness mass exodus of experienced staff owing to attainment of mandatory retirement age.
The occasion was the opening ceremony of a symposium organised by the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers, NAAE. It was attended by the serving Minister of Aviation.
