The group further decried the operations of the firms which, according to them, are causing severe pollution and damage to farm lands.

“Our problems range from lack of employment, environmental pollution from oil and gas activities, lack of infrastructures within the host communities like road, clean water and electricity.

“Our people are naturally farmers and fishermen, but the activities of the joint ventures have destroyed our farm lands and aquatic lives. The pollution caused by their activities have damaged our crops due to the toxic compounds,” the group said.
