Man butchers wife in farm

By Austin Ogwuda
Asaba—Delta State Police Command is currently investigating what could have prompted a man, 40, to lure his wife to their farm and slaughter her like a goat.

According  to the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, the suspect (names withheld) “left Agbor for their farm in Igbodo in company of his wife, Patricia, 24 years, and on getting there, he killed her, cut off her head, legs and hands and went back to Agbor to report a case of missing person.

“But through information, the suspect was arrested, and in the course of interrogation, he confessed killing and dismembering his wife.

“He later took detectives to the farm where the severed parts of the body were recovered in different locations.”
The PPRO added that the suspect was currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Asaba, and would soon be charged to court.

About a fortnight ago, a 25-year-old labourer was arrested by the police for allegedly burying his daughter alive in a shallow grave at Kokori.

The four-month-old baby was, however, exhumed by a public spirited individual shortly after she was buried.
In confirming the arrest of that suspect, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, said  “the suspect claimed he was unhappy with his wife for refusing to sleep with him”.
