Against the backdrop of a possible extension of his contract beyond the 2010 World Cup, national team manager, Lars Lagerback is being touted as one who would take football in Nigeria to new heights.
Nigeria Football Federation officials have all expressed their desire to see the Swede stay in Nigeria beyond the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup but the national teams outing at the Mundial will be the Swedes litmus test to determine his fate.
Speaking at the weekend in Abuja, NFF President, Sani Abdullahi Lulu said we hope to extend his contract but what happens in South Africa will inform that decision.
It is hoped that if we have a good outing in South Africa, he will be asked to continue on a long term basis.Chairman of the technical Committee, Taiwo Ogunjobi and first Vice President Amanze Uchegbulam all spoke in the same vain.
