ICPC parades 4 women for alleged fraud

Owerri—The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, at the weekend in Owerri paraded four women, who allegedly defrauded some women of various sums of money.

Parading the suspects, the state commandant of the Commission, Prince Rowland Dandy, said the women, based in Aba, Abia State, had also duped many other unsuspecting victims, mostly women traders in Imo State.  He said the arrest followed complaints lodged by the victims and subsequent investigations by the commission.

Dandy, who advised Imo residents to be weary of those who bring goods to them to buy at cheap prices, said it was regrettable that some women had chosen to debase womanhood, all in a bid to make quick money.

The commandant said that the Commission was poised to fight corruption in the state, and urged residents to always report cases of corruption to it. He said that the suspects would be charged to court soon.
