Goldlink Insurance paid over N1.2billion in 2009 as claims to relieve their customers from one loss or another.
The statement revealed that over N700million claims was settled on General Insurance while claims paid on Life policies amounted to N500million.
Under the General Insurance: Motor Insurance gulped almost N360million; N68million was paid on Fire Insurance, while General Accident and Marine Insurance had N216million and N67million respectively.
The beneficiaries of these claims are various government institutions and departments, indiividuals and other corporate establishments.
The management of the underwriting company reinstates that even though 2009 was a challenging year due to the global economic recession which did not exempt the Nigerian economy, Goldlink made its clientele a major priority in settling their claims as and when due. It said that the issue of claims settlement remains of utmost importance in convincing the insuring public of the advantages of insurance to the country, corporations, groups and individuals.
Hence the management has reaffirmed its unreserved commitment to promptly paying claims to its customers since this is the whole essence of insurance.
The company had it 2010 management retreat in Ogun State with the theme â€œExcelling in a Challenging Environmentâ€.
Mr. Femi Okunniyi, Managing Director of the company, stated that â€œthe underlying reason for the annual gathering of the management and staff is to rekindle the zeal of dedication of our team in our different ways through which individuals contribute their quota to the smooth running of the business of the company.
The principal objective of the forthcoming retreat is to re-invigorate the â€˜can-excelâ€™ spirit and rejuvenate the energy and skills of its human resource in order to reposition Goldlink for better service delivery in 2010. This is the motive behind the theme.
In the words of the CEO, the annual event is Key to the healthy development of the total being of staff of the company as it is not only an opportunity to brainstorm and reflect; but some sporting events and talks on healthy living are also in the programme. Notable and well-seasoned speakers are expected to speak during the three- day programme.
Goldlink Insurance which was rated â€˜Aâ€™ last year by Global Credit Rating was listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in February 2008 and has branches across the nation.
