MINISTER ofÂ Commerce and Industry, Chief Achike Udenwa has said that the forthcoming USA-Nigeria Business Forum will not only boost business between the two countries but also improve diplomatic relations between them.
He said the ministry in collaboration with the United States Trade Representative is organising the Ist USA-Nigeria Business Forum,â€ from April 12 – 20, 2010, and added that it promises immense opportunities for interested investors.
The business forum which he said scheduled to hold in three major commercial cities in the US, namely: Atlanta, Georgia, from April 12 – 13; Houston, Texas, from April 15 – 16; and Chicago, Illinois, from April 19 – 20, 2010. This was made known to the press during a world press briefing on the Ist USA-Nigeria Business Forum held in the ministryâ€™s headquarters in Abuja.
The minster said the forum is organised to facilitate business and investment relations between prospective American investors and their Nigerian counterparts. He added that during the business forum, there will be business talks on one-to-one basis between Nigerian investors and their American counterparts.
He also stressed that the forum will bring together more than 50 corporate executives and senior policy makers form Nigeria, and senior policy makers, CEOs of major US corporations as well as International Investment Banks to explore opportunities for bi-lateral investment in 14 key sectors.
