ILORIN — Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State has re-assured the International Community that no stone would be left unturned to sustain Nigeria’s nascent democracy even as he called for bilateral economic relations between Kwara State and France.
Receiving the France Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Jean Michel Dumond, at the Government House, Ilorin, Governor Saraki said Nigeria was a responsible country blessed with responsible leaders, who would do everything possible to sustain her cherished democracy.
His words: “I want to re-assure the International Community that Nigeria is a responsible country. Nigeria, collectively I believe, has responsible leaders. Nigeria through the Governors’ Forum, we believe that we are responsible, we believe we cherish this democracy and we want to do everything possible to sustain this democracy.â€
He told the envoy that few weeks ago, the Governors’ Forum working in close collaboration with the National Assembly came up with a necessary approach to provide political stability in the country, pointing out that this has gone a long way to calm the tension and ensure stability in the polity.
