The 2010 edition ofÂ the annual survey of 20 Best Companies for Leadership by BusinessWeek.com has rated Accenture fifth in global corporate leadership.
Accenture, a global management consulting, technology, services and outsourcing company , moved seven places from its 12th position in 2009 to number 5th in 2010. The 20 Best Companies for Leadership survey conducted annually by BusinessWeek.com aims at identifying companies that set leadership standard and invest in developing the next generation of corporate leaders.
Managed by the Hay Group, research partner to BusinessWeek.com, the Best Companies for Leadership ranking considers information provided by employers, surveys and peer review on the structure, quality and performance of leadership set by world class companies and how they have attained such vision set for leadership over a period of time.
A statement from BusinessWeek.com and Hay Group, noted that the survey involved a sample of 176,000 employees while responses were sought on issues such as leadership development and strategic steps put in place by organizations to make leadership a culture.
Accenture came 5th in the elite list of the top five which saw General Electric, Southwest Airlines, 3M Company and Procter & Gamble in first, second, third and forth places respectively. Wal-Mart Stores, Nestle, Coca-Cola, McDonaldâ€™s Corporation, and Infosys Technologies occupies the 6th to 10th spot in the ranking.
