Umuahia—TOUCHED by the plight of 41 teenage pregnant girls rescued few days ago by the Abia State Command of the Security and Civil Defence, wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Mercy Orji, visited them and called for a stop to pregnant teenage girls for monetary gains.
Mrs. Orji also noted with disappointment, the meagre amount of money with which these young girls are lured into the business. She said the business of trafficking in pregnant teenage girls should be condemned and fought against by the society.
She appealed to parents and guidance to ensure proper upbringing of their wards, and monitor their lifestyles and type of company they keep. This, she said would help to prevent them from ruining their lives.
