Union faults Agbor Education college’s search for provost

AGBOR—THE Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, Agbor Chapter, has called for the immediate cancellation of the recent  interview for the post of a Provost of the College conducted by the Governing Council of the institution.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Governing Council through the Acting Provost of the College, titled “Flawed Provostship Interview in College of Education”, the Academic staff members argued that the interview lacked transparency, unlawful, unacceptable and should be cancelled immediately.

COEASU members noted in a letter dated February 18, 2010, jointly signed  by its President, Mr Benson Eshenake; Secretary , Mr F.C. Akpotohwo,  and six other executive members of  the Union, noted  that the advertisement of vacancy for the post ran counter to the letter and spirit of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, NCCE, enabling laws
