LAGOS â€” WORKERS in the nationâ€™s oil industry have called on the Federal Government and others concerned to stop making a comedy act of the health predicament and disclose the true position of the Presidentâ€™s health to Nigerians who elected him as President.
The umbrella body for senior staff in the petroleum sector, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, however, pledged its support and co-operation to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the Acting President, while hoping that workersâ€™ issues would be given utmost and passionate consideration and attention by the administration.
A statement by its General-Secretary, Comrade Bayo Olowoshile, said in part: â€œPENGASSAN salutes the decision of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from the theatrical subjection of governance by sycophants over President Umaru Yarâ€™Adua undisclosed state of health.
â€œThe courage to make the Vice President Goodluck Jonathan the Acting President should be embraced by all well-meaning Nigerians as the most expedient in our circumstance to collectively save Nigeria.
â€œPENGASSAN congratulates and commends Acting President Goodluck Jonathan for steadfastness, focus and persistent exhibition of statesmanship.
â€œThe Association pledges loyalty, support and cooperation while hoping that workersâ€™ issues will be given utmost and passionate consideration and attention by the administration.
