Rivers police confirm abduction of Allied Homes’ GM


RIVERS State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the General Manager, Allied Homes  Limited, Mr. Khusa, from his Orazi street residence in Port Harcourt at about 10pm on Saturday.

Public Relations Officer of the Police Command, Mrs. Rita Inoma Abbey who confirmed the development said the nationality of the hostage was  unknown at press time.  This is about the third kidnap in the state this year.

Meanwhile, the Police said efforts were  on to track down the kidnappers with  a view to  securing the release of the hostage. The state Police PRO also confirmed abduction of an eight months old baby in the state capital last Thursday. She said the police was battling to connect the kidnappers through the phone number they left with the parents as they were snatching the baby.

In another development, Shell has denied attack on any of its facility in Akukutoru local government area of Rivers state. A spokesman of the Anglo Dutch oil giant told the Vanguard under condition of anonymity that the online mail alleging attack of its facility in the area by a group was propaganda from such groups. The spokesman urged the public to ignore the allegations as they were tissues of lies.

An online statement from a group, Joint Revolutionary Council of Niger Delta and signed by its Spokesman, Bakabio Walter alleged that its men attacked Shell pipeline in Obunoma, Akukutoru local government area on Saturday night.
