PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, in the South West zone has advised the national secretariat of the party to refer back to it all crises-related issues in the zone that did not follow due process.
The national secretariat of the party had intervened in the crisis that had engulfed the party in Oyo State and sent Ike Nwachukwu committee to resolve the crisis.
The party also reaffirmed the expulsion of the former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose over alleged party activities.
In a statement by the National Vice Chairman of the party in the zone, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo at the end of its working committee meeting, the party commended the resolution of the National Assembly in the face of current political challenges in our country in recognisingÂ Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the Acting President.
While praying for the quick recovery of the ailing president, it stated that “it reaffirms the position of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chairman, Board of Trustees PDP as father of the party in the zoneâ€.
On the crises that had engulfed the party in the zone, it stated that all machinery for dispute resolution must be exhausted within the zone before issues are referred to the national secretariat.
It said, â€œWhere there are disputes, all machinery for dispute resolution must be exhausted within the zone before they are referred to the National Secretariat.â€
The statement also stated that the party would be ready to receive returning members in its membership drive in a bid to reposition it for next yearâ€™s elections.
