Oliha advises Nigerians on Lulu’s successor

By Kate obodo
Former Super Eagles defender, Thompson Oliha has advised Nigerians to be wise when casting  their votes in the forthcoming election into the Nigeria Football Association board in other to have  the right person who can move the country’s  football forward.

According to him, time has come for personalities who are educated and have wealth of experience to run football. He tipped Chief Segun Odegbami, one of the expected candidates for the upcoming election, saying people of his calibre should be made to handle football, especially been in the field before.

“When you look at people who have  played football very well  in the past, Odegbami is one of them. But I don’t know how Nigerians will be looking at it. Having people who do not have the knowledge of what they are doing again to run football, is absolutely not too good, especially something that affects the whole nation.

“In this case, being a true Nigerian, we know what is good and what is not good. A lot of things have not been going too well, that is why we need people who have the passion for football to run the affairs in other for a better tomorrow.

“Also, people who are educated should be in charge, it will do a lot of good for us.  In other countries, people who are educated are allowed to head the sport,  not people who don’t have any knowledge of the game. We just need to be wise with our vote because it goes  a long way to get the right people to head the post of NFF,” he said.
