Ohakim swears in new council chiefs

OWERRI—The Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim will today, swear-in  the recently appointed 27 Sole Administrators of the local government areas in the state.

Ohakim will also inaugurate the Coordinators of the newly created Local Government Development Areas in the state  at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Complex, Owerri.

Secretary to Imo State Government in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs Bureau, Mr. S.I. Mbachu, invited all stakeholders, including the legislature and judiciary to the event.
Similarly, the Governor will also swear-in the Chairman and members of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC, at the Multi Purpose Hall, Government House, Owerri, today.

The statement warned that no vehicle would be allowed into the Multi Purpose Hall premises, adding that the measure was to ensure a hitch free exercise.

In another development, youths in the state have been advised to shun negative tendencies to enable them play their roles as the nation’s future leaders.

The Director General, Imo State Orientation Agency, ISOA, Mr. Angus Oguike, gave the advice while addressing members of the Rejuvenated Initiative, a non-governmental organisation that paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
