Obi’s victory ‘ll liberate Anambra —APGA

Awka—Chief Victor Umeh, National Chairman of APGA has said that the victory of Governor Peter Obi of Anambra in Saturday’s poll will liberate the state from the shackles of under development.

Umeh told newsmen shortly after the declaration of Obi as winner of the elections in  Awka, that the victory would reposition the state for speedy development.

According to him, “Obi worked hard enough to win the election,” stressing that his good performance in his first tenure aided the victory.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment shown by INEC in ensuring credible, free and fair election in spite of some issues in the election.

“We are happy to set the pace. What the country now needs to develop is credible election, allowing people to choose their leaders rather than deny people their franchise,” he said.

A former Minister of Aviation in the first Republic, Chief Mbazuruike Amechi, congratulated Obi, but advised him to be less partisan, in handling affairs of the state.
