Kajola wins Falilat Ogunkoya schools track and field championships

Kajola zone of Oyo State emerged the over all winners of the Falilat Ogunkoya 1st Oyo State Secondary Schools track and field competition decided last Wednesday at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan .

Kajola made a haul of 8 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze, while Oyo Zone was second with 5 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronzes. Saki came Third with 3 gold, 2 Silvers and 5 bronzes.

Reacting after the event, the initiator of the project and former Olympian, Falilat Ogunkoya [MON], said she is  happy for staging a successful meet.  According to her, the aim and objective of the event is to  produced young and raw talents at the end of the competition.

She pledged her loyalty to the people and Government of Oyo State under the able leadership of, Otunba Alao Akala, and thanked them for their corporation and funding while the meet lasted.

She further explained that all budding talents so far discovered would be groomed and sponsored both at home and  outside of  the country in the nearest future. “We pray and hope that the meet gets better year in year out,” she concluded.
