Group lauds Imo govt for lifting ban on employment

OWERRI—Imo State Government has been commended for lifting the ban on employment in the public service, as well as the 10,000 jobs it promised to create this year.

This was contained in a communique by the people of Ikpe-Nsu community, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state,  by 19 chieftains of the community, including Chief Austin Nwachukwu and Mr. Bright Nwelue.

“We entirely dissociate ourselves from the blackmails, sponsored negative write-up and unwarranted litigations against the Governor and Government of Imo State,” the people said.

They were of the view that because of the healthy economic climate and improved security network, investors  are now coming to the state.

“Even recent appointments of Imo citizens and other Nigerians into various positions speak volumes of Governor Ohakim’s sincerity towards reconciliation and progress,” they said.

While commending the administration’s uncompromising commitment to bequeathing memorable legacies to posterity, the community also noted that “having done very well as Governor of Imo State, he deserves a second term in office.”
