Fashola marks 1000 days in office, meets civil servants

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State will today meet civil and public servants in the state as the administration marks its 1000 days in office.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, meeting selected stakeholders every 100 days has afforded the state government the opportunity of getting direct feed-back on its policies and programmes.

The theme for the 1000 days in office is ‘Repositioning the Public Service for Effective Service Delivery towards a Model Mega City State.”

Expected to be in attendance are government functionaries in the state and local government levels and representatives of trade associations in the civil service.

The meeting, which is tagged, “Governor’s Forum,” holding at Blue Roof, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidinbgi, Ikeja by 10.00 a.m, is part of the state government’s efforts to render an account of his stewardship to selected stakeholders every 100 days in office.

The commissioner noted that every government that truly wanted to serve the people must descend from its Olympian height to meet the populace yearnings and aspirations.

He said it was the desire of the present administration led by Governor Fashola to connect with every stakeholder in the entity called Lagos.

Bamidele said the race for a better Lagos would be accomplished much faster and quicker when government enlisted the support and understanding of stakeholders. adding that the administration would continue to explore avenues of making governance participatory.
