Enugu Labour Party repositions for 2011

By  Dennis Agbo

ENUGU—THE Labour Party, LP, despite its lose of the  2007 governorship candidate in Enugu State, said, it had commenced a process of repositioning the party for enviable impact in the state, preparatory to  next year’s general elections.

Rising from it’s meeting in Enugu, weekend, the state chairman of LP, Mr  Morgan Anigbo said the chapter had elected a new executives to pilot the affairs of the party towards achieving the socialist ideology of the party.

He said that party was now taking-off properly, against what he described as distraction in 2007 that made the party come second in the governorship election. Anigbo urged the people of the state to return fully to the Labour Party, which he said is people oriented, cares for the masses, the organised labour and has no room for godfatherism or any cabal.

“We base our cooperation on ideology, which I doubt if  any other political party has.  Ours is social democracy. We believe in grassroots foundation and from there we shall  move the state and the nation forward,” he said.
