THE High Court Edo state, sitting in Igarra, yesterday, granted an order of interim injunction restraining Governor Adams Oshiomhole, from carrying out the suspension order which the Governor slammed on the Chairman of Akoko Edo Local Government Council of the state, Chief Johnson Emasealu.
Joined in the suit, with number HIG/3.2010/M1 as defendants, were the Attorney General of the state, the State House of Assembly, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Vice Chairman of the Council.
The order also restrained the agents or privies of the defendants from carrying out the suspension order on Chief Emasealu. The order would be in force pending the determination of the motion on notice filed with the application for an interim injunction.
The presiding judge, Justice Aigbuloko Oyakhilome said the interim injunction would be in force till Tuesday, 23 February 2010, just as he adjourned the motion on notice to the same date.
