CJN sacks NJI scribe, Ajibade

ABUJA—The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Aloysius Katsina Alu, has sacked the Secretary to the National Judicial Institute, Mrs. Bolatito Ajibade.
Katsina Alu is the Chairman of the Institute’s Board. Ajibade was appointed in May 2008.

The board of the institute, according to a letter personally signed by Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice A.I. Katsina Alu, CON, has approved the elevation of the Institute’s Director of studies, Mrs Phaebe Ayua as the Institute’s Secretary with immediate effect.

In her removal letter signed by the CJN, Mrs. Ajibade was directed to report to the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court for re-assignment.

Meanwhile, a Committee of the board is expected to meet later this month to consider the report of an investigative panel set up by the immediate past CJN to look into allegations of certificate racketeering, forgery, absenteeism from work and insubordination contained in series of petition sent to the former CJN.
