IT was double tragedy for one-time chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Council in Delta State, Mrs. Mary Chidi, following her abduction on Friday morning by unknown gunmen at her Asaba residence.
The woman, who is presently a member of the state Waste Management Board,  was still mourning her eldest son who died and was buried two days when she was abducted.
The abductors had disguised as some of the sympathizers thronging her residence to condole her over the death of the son. But family members were scared stiff when the abductors who were initially shedding tears suddenly pulled out their guns and took her away from her Government Reserved Area (GRA) residence in Asaba that Friday at about 10am to an unknown place.
No contact has been made by the abductors with the family of the victim at the time of this report but the state police command public relations officers (PPRO), Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed the incident, saying “we are on top of itâ€.
