Starwood hotels expand presence in Nigeria

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) and Trinity Gardens Limited has  announced plans to develop a  Four Points hotel by Sheraton Ikeja, which is scheduled to open in 2013.

The new hotel will be situated in the Ikeja area of Lagos, within close proximity to the international and domestic airports, the Lagos industrial zone and the Ikeja golf course.

The Sponsor and Promoter of Trinity Gardens is Asset & Resource Management Company Ltd (ARM), one of Nigeria’s leading asset management companies, which also owns the Four Points by Sheraton Lagos currently under construction.

The Four Points by Sheraton Ikeja will offer 191 guest rooms, including a number of suites, a restaurant, a lobby bar, an open air bar and barbeque, and a juice bar. Guests will also be able to enjoy the hotel’s spa, fitness center and swimming pool.

An ideal venue for business meetings and social functions, Four Points by Sheraton Ikeja will feature a 1,500 square meter banqueting space that will be one of the largest in Lagos. Both business and leisure travelers will appreciate the hotel’s lively social atmosphere and emphasis on uncomplicated comfort.

The six_story Four Points by Sheraton Ikeja will form part of a mixed_use development that includes a shopping mall and an entertainment complex. This multi_purpose complex will provide a convenient one_stop hospitality and retailing experience in a comfortable, safe environment, with ample parking.  The hotel, which will offer easy access to the mall and all the neighbouring amenities, will also provide a clear view of the surrounding golf course from the guest rooms.
