Insideout of the Glo Premier League can reveal that the team is said to be owing Coral Govina hotels in Ughelli, Delta State the sum of N32,000,000:00. being debt owed the hotel for accommodating the club from December 2008 to August 2009.

According to Chairman of  Govina Hotels, Uloho Govina Steve, all attempts by the hotel to get the management of the club to pay up has fallen ondeaf ears. “I have reported this matter to the Commissioner for Sports in Bayelsa and the Commissioner for Finance. I understand the governor has released money to the club but they have refused to pay me.

I had to seize their bus but the bus is not up to half of the sum owed by the club.  He stressed that if by February, the club still refuse to pay, he would have no optiuon than to take them to court.

“These people have almost recked me. They are owing me N32m and they pretend as if nothing is wrong. Instead of paying me my money, they ran to another hotel”, he said.

Govina also vowed that he would get NPL to stop Ocean Boys from playing the rest of their league matches if they fail to pay.

“Mr Nathaniel Ingor Sylva and secretary Tony Ogolayo, sometime ago came here and assured that the club will pay and we let them stay in the hotel. We provided the team with accommodation when the state’s stadium was undergoing renovation. “They were to pay in advance at the end of every month. But they did not do so and have not paid since August 2009”, he said.

Attempts to get Ocean Boys to comment on the issue proved abortive as the media officer of Ocean Boys FC did not pick his call or replied the text message sent to him.
