Despite ending upwith a bronze medal at the weekend, Nigerian winger, Osaze Odemwingieâ€™s impressive performance, has earned him a place in the best eleven players of the Africa Cup of Nations, which ended last night in Luanda, Angola.
After a meeting hours before the final of the Nations Cup match between Egypt and Ghana, the Technical Committee of CAF, comprising Hussein Abdel Moneim, who is the technical director of CAF, Ben Kouffie (Ghana), Adegboye Onigbinde (Nigeria), Anthony Baffoe (Ghana), Noser Fathy (Egypt) and Maalouch Belhassan (Tunisia ), revealed the identities of the best eleven players of the tournament.
Egypt, winners of a record seventh title, dominate the list with Essam El Hadary, Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hassan and Mohamed Zidan all making the cut while Algeriaâ€™s Madjid Bougherra of Algeria, Cameroonâ€™s Alxandre Song, Nigeriaâ€™s Odemwingie, Ghanaâ€™s Asamoah Gyan and Angolaâ€™s Flavio and Mabina complete the list of eleven
Interestingly, Chinedu Obasi was also listed on the substitutes bench of the team of the tournament.
