By Demola Akinyemi

Ilorin — Nigeria Inter-Religious Council, NIREC, yesterday challenged  the Federal Government in collaboration with other relevant security agencies to commence without further delay the fishing out of the perpetrators behind the recent violence in Jos, Plateau State to prevent another occurrence in the future and also save the nation.

This was contained in a statement in Ilorin yesterday  by the umbrella body of Islam and Christianity, jointly signed by its Executive Secretary, Professor I-shaq Oloyede, the Sultan of Sokoto and the President Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Alhaaji Abubakar Saad, and the President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Archbishop John Onaiyekan.

NIREC described the dastardly act that occurred in Jos as uncalled for, adding that those that allegedly participated in recruiting, arming, and supporting the violence should be dealt with by the appropriate authorities.
