Katsina-Alu urges Benue leaders to sink defferences

MAKURDI — Chief Justice of the Nigeria, CJN, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu, has urged the political leaders in Benue State to sink their differences and work collectively for the speedy development of the state.

He made this call while receiving in his office a delegation from the Benue State House of Assembly led by the Speaker of the House, Mr. Tersser Tsumba.

The CJN noted that the time had come for the people of Benue State to take their rightful position in the comity of states of the federation, emphasizing that they could only achieve that in an atmosphere of peace and togetherness devoid of rancour.

He described the visit of the delegation as a demonstration of the support from his home state to enable him succeed in his new assignment.

He reminded the lawmakers that as representatives of the people, it was imperative that the interest of the people were served at all times.

Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and leader of the delegation, Mr. Tsumba noted that the appointment of Justice Katsina-Alu as Chief Justice of Nigeria was a crown of glory to his monumental achievements in the legal profession.
