EFCC seals up Akingbola’s house on 12 Ruxton, Ikoyi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday sealed up the property of former Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Mr Erastus Akingbola on 12, Ruxton Street Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to an EFCC source, operatives stormed the residence of the former bank boss at about 11.30am where 15 assorted cars were seen in different garages and more than 10 guard dogs.

The action of the anti-graft agency was sequel to a  Federal High Court, Lagos, order mandating it to  seal up all properties belonging to Akingbola and freezing of all his accounts here in Nigeria

The court had instructed the agency to, among other instructions, freeze all the bank accounts held directly, indirectly by, or for the benefit or on behalf of Dr Erastus Akingbola within Nigeria, being account recipient of proceeds of Economic Crimes of the said Akingbola.

The following are suspected bank accounts held personally or through others by the former bank CEO: Intercontinental Bank Plc [including account with others 0001200000029420,0001210000005334, 0111-001-000352735 and 0111001000-352745] Access Bank Plc [including the name of Bankinson Nigeria Ltd, Tropics Properties Ltd and Tropics Finance and Investment company Ltd]; Zenith Bank Plc, Skye Bank Plc, First Bank Plc, Fidelity Bank Plc [including in the names of Bankinson Nig. Ltd], Associated Discount House Ltd and Intercontinental Bank Plc.
