Anambra : HDP candidate hopeful of victory

By  Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA—Hope Democratic Party, HDP, governorship candidate for the February 6 election in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu says he is sure of emerging victorious in the election, going by his contributions towards the empowerment of the people and development of the state.

Ukachukwu, who is on campaign tour of parts of the state, spoke at Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Dunukofia, Njikoka, Ayamelum and Anambra East Local Government areas, where he addressed his teeming supporters.

It was not just campaigns alone, as the HDP candidate  took time out to pay courtesy visits on traditional rulers of the various communities.

“I have always been with the people and the people know me. The people cannot be deceived now by individuals who get close to them only when they seek public office. If the people of Anambra State are allowed to quietly ask the past contributions of every candidate towards societal upliftment, the answers would be obvious and you know I will come out tops.

“I am clearly the highest private employer of labour in the state with over 2000 persons working in my 12 factories at Obosi, Anambra State. My companies have provided accommodation to more Ndi Anambra than all the other candidates put together, with over 1000 houses in an estate in Abuja . Apart from my scholarship scheme which is unequalled with over 450 beneficiaries, my organisation has built a model primary/secondary school in Abuja presently adjudged the best in West Africa .

“I also have an endowment for widows and the underprivileged, a project I started many years before ever thinking of contesting for the governorship position. A private citizen who has the wherewithal to better the lives of the people and fails to do so is not likely to learn charity, kindness and good planning as a Governor,” he added.
