TWENTY –ONE days to the governorship election in Anambra State , one of the 25 candidates jostling to become the next governor of the state, Chief Victor Anigbata of the National Solidarity Democratic Party (NSDP) has thrown in the towel and decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with his supporters.
Announcing his defection to PDP at Ifitedunu in Dunukofia local government area, Anigbata said his group took the action because they were convinced that the candidate of PDP, Prof Chukwuma Soludo is the man best suited to be governor, coupled with the fact that they have noticed a new improved PDP in Anambra State .
The decampees were received by the state vice chairman of the PDP, Chief Mbamalu who said that by their action, they would be entitled to all the rights and privileges due to other members of PDP. He however urged them to immediately join others in the mobilization efforts to ensure that PDP emerges victorious in the election.
Also addressing the new members, Soludo called on others who were still undecided to emulate Chief Anigbata by joining the mass movement called the PDP which, according to him, is guaranteed to take Anambra to the promised land.
