Former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu has expressed disappointment over the Eagles 3-1  defeat by defending champions Egypt at the on-going Nations Cup in Benguela, Angola.

Chukwu, a member of the 1980 winning squad, said though the team selection was quite okay, the problem was with the way the team played.

The former Rangers technical adviser said that the tactics was very poor, as he singled out Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi as the only player who played with guts.

“Like every Nigerian, it was a painful match having hoped the country will restore the confidence in our football in Angola. What happened in the opening game was nothing to write home about.

The team really failed after a brilliant beginning. For me, it’s not about the selection but the way they played like amateurs. The tactics was so bad that they did not know what they were doing.
