By Jimitota Onoyume
PORT-HARCOURT —  A Police patrol vehicle was arrested yesterday over traffic offence on Trans Amadi road and at the instance of Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

The governor said the state would not tolerate lawlessness from any sector of the society.

It would be recalled that the state government recently came up with a committee to enforce traffic rules in the state. Going by the rule, traffic offenders are to be sent for psychiatric test before being prosecuted for traffic offences.

Ordering the arrest of the traffic offenders, Amaechi said he was surprise that the police patrol van was neither on emergency patrol nor on escort duty. Other vehicles driving behind the patrol vehicle were also impounded on the orders of the governor.

He ordered that the keys to all the impounded vehicles be seized and handed over to the nearest police station for prosecution.

Governor Amaechi, was personally driving his official car when he ran into the lawless acts of the police men
