We are closing in on killers of Lagos biz woman — Akpoyibo

By Evelyn Usman

LAGOS — Police authorities in Lagos have revealed that they were closing in on killers of a business woman who was shot dead seven months by unknown gun men at the premises of Sacred Heart Cathedral Church, Apapa Lagos.

This development, according to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Marvel Akpoyibo, followed a  handwritten anonymous letter it received via a courier service recently.

The four-page letter, according to Akpoyibo, while briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarters, Ikeja, provided detectives with useful clues regarding the masterminds of the dastardly act.

“Acting on the strength of this information, the command has indeed made positive in-roads into the investigation,” he said.

But unfortunately, he said there were still some yarning gaps in the on-going investigation which he regretted had hindered the apprehension of the principal suspects.

He, therefore, appealed to anonymous informant with useful information capable of assisting the police in the on-going investigation to come personably to him without revealing details of his name or address  as this, he noted, would lead to the arrest of the killers.

Anyone with such information, he said, could also reach him on the following numbers: 08033011052 and 08055117920, reassuring such person of the confidentiality of all information that would be volunteered.
