Police parade suspected criminals in Ilorin

Ilorin–A car snatching syndicate, comprising of a motor dealer, an ex convict and two others suspected to be specialists in stolen vehicle in kwara state and its environs  were yesterday paraded by  the Kwara state Police command.

The middle-aged men, whose names were given as Jeremiah Olalekan an Offa, Kwara state based car dealer, Tajudeen Adebowale (ex-convict) and Adebayo Elewede both of Ago Iwoye, Ogun state, allegedly conspired to commit the offence.

The state Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Mrs. Bosede Dawodu speaking at a press conference at the state police headquarters in Ilorin  told journalists that following a tip off, a team of the Rapid Response Squad (SARS) recovered all the four stolen vehicles from the premises of a secondary school in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of the state.

According to the police boss, “November 26th information received at the SARS office revealed that a white Toyota Hiace Hummer bus with registration number XS215LSR was snatched at gunpoint along Ore/Ijebu Ode expressway in Ogun state and the tracking device installed in the bus revealed that the bus was in the premises of a college (name withheld) at Offa where it was hidden.”

She noted that, “on the strength of that information, the police swung into action and that led to the discovery of the stolen vehicles.”
