By Anayo Okoli

UMUAHIA—THE Managing Director of World Bank, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala yesterday urged guests who thronged their Umuda-Isingwu country home, in Umuahia, Abia State, to witness the marriage ceremony of her daughter, Onyinye, to donate towards the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Specifically, Okonjo-Iweala said they should not donate to her daughter and her American husband, Andrew, but instead make the donation through the Iweala family who will forward them towards the fight against HIV/AIDS and to people living with AIDS.

She said the Okonjo-Iwealas will channel the donations for the cause of fighting HIV/AIDS through two Non-governmental organisations, namely, Physicians for Social Justice, which has Dr. Chukwumuanya Igbokwe as the coordinator and Amana Organisation coordinated by Sumaila Garba. The donations, she said will also go to Umuda-Isingwu Community school.
