Kebbi A-G, brother die in auto crash

MINNA — Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kebbi State, Alhaji Kasimu Barau and his elder brother, Alhaji Abubahar Barau, have lost their lives in an auto crash along Zungeru-Minna road.

The duo along with four others were said to have payed a Sallah homage on their relations in Minna, the state capital and returning to Birini-Kebbi when the accident occurred.

Our correspondent gathered that the Toyota Space bus in which they were travelling  ran into a pothole at about 8 p.m. which led to a burst tyre.

As a result of the burst-tyre, the driver lost control and swerved into the bush after somersaulting severally.

The duo were said to have died instantly while four others sustained serious injuries and were later rushed to the Minna General Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Secretary to the Niger State Government, Dr. Muhammed Kuta Yahaya, who confirmed the incident said government delegation had been sent to Kebbi State to commiserate with the families, government and people of the state on the loss of their beloved ones.

The delegation was led by the permanent secretary and state Solicitor General, Ministry of Justice, Mr Ndagi Wali.

The remains of the deceased have since been buried.
