Fashola asks Nigerians to renew hope, faith in Nigeria

LAGOS — Governor Babatunde Fashola has charged Nigerians to use the Christmas celebration to renew their faith and hope in the nation and work towards lifting Nigeria to become one of the greatest countries in the world.

The governor also urged Nigerians to give and share love with each other in their families, homes, places of work and business and everywhere they interact with fellow men.

Fashola who gave the charge in his Christmas message said: “This is possible only if we believe and continue to ventilate our faith in the oneness and unity of this nation.

“It is achievable if we continue to live in peace and harmony and let us all find strength rather than weakness in our diversity,” he said.

Fashola noted that “as everyone celebrates this auspicious season of fun and joy, let us not forget the lesson of Christmas and Jesus Christ whose birth became the reason for this season celebration.

“The resonate in teachings like unconditional love, forgiveness of sin, grace, sharing and championing the cause of the weak and the oppressed as well as the vulnerable are some of the teachings of Jesus Christ,” he said. The governor added that these teachings underscored the fact about Jesus Christ and should not be lost on humanity.
