Bilikisu shines at Lagos-GTBank Principal Cup

PETIT Bilikisu Raji of Epetedo Girls Grammar School, Logos Island was the toast of soccer fans at the Saint Gregory’s College play ground Obalande weekend when her side clashed with  Akande Daunsi Community High School Lekki at the females final of District three of the on-going Lagos – GT Bank Principals’ Cup.
The 14 year-old Junior Secondary School (JSS 3) girl was very outstanding with her kind of soccer artistry displayed in the district three females final match to determine which team tops the district to play in the league format of the Lagos – GT Bank Principals Cup.

Bilikisu tormented her opponents vital area throughout the match and eventually capped her effort with the winning goal for her side. For her good runs since the championship started last month in the six districts of Lagos, she was nick-named ‘Lionel Messi” of her side even as she is a girl.

She disclosed that her dream was to help her school female soccer team win the prestigious Principals Cup and one day, wear the national colours and represent the country in an international championship.

“It was a good game and I enjoyed myself and gave a good account of myself by scoring the one and only winning goal for my school team. I feel so great and that’s why I am dancing. Having helped my school, Epetedo Girls Grammar School to win and to top my district, the task ahead is to strive to help them again win the female trophy and one day wear the national colours and represent the country in an international championship”, she said.

Bilikisu had a good combination with her teammates,  Alima Akande and Omowunmi Bamidele

Other qualifiers for the league stage of the competition are the girls from Ikorodu High School who topped the district two after beating girls of Gbagada Senior Grammar School 2-0 while the Gbagada Senior Grammar School boys won the male spot by 3-2 through penalty against Oriwu Senior Model College Ikoprodu after playing 1-1 ar regulation time.

Aguda Grammar School won the District four slot for the female against Coker Secondary School
while Mainland High School outclassed Jubilee Model Grammar School for the male for the same district.

The District five top shot for the male went Gaskiya Senior College after defeating Agboju Senior Secondary School by 2-0 while the girls from Alakoto Senior High School will fly the district five girls flag having beaten their counterparts from  Kuje senior Secondary School by 3-1 via penalty after a goalless draw at the regulation time.
