YOLAâ€“A seventy-years old woman, (names withheld) has been arrested in Numan Adamawa State by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA for been in possession of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp.
Arrested along with the woman is a prominent politician in Numan, Dautshoho Alhassan.
Parading the suspects before Newsmen in Yola Thursday, Adamawa State Commander of the NDLEA, Malam Hassan Zungeru announced that the duo were arrested in the house of Dantshohoâ€™s mother with 99 bags of the substance.
The Commander disclosed that the weeds weighing 793.5kg were concealed in a warehouse at the family House of Dantshoho.
The NDLEA Boss described Dantshoho as a renowned Indian Hemp Dealer, who according to him has being in the business for many years.
He warned others in the trade to desist from the habit, vowing that the NDLEA would arrest and deal decisively with them.
According to Zungeru, there will be no sacred low to be spared in the collective efforts to rid the state and the Nation of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
